In addition to a will, most people need at some time a Power of Attorney and a Living Will, also called an Advanced Directive. A Power of Attorney allows you to appoint your loved ones or a trusted friend to handle your affairs if you become incapacitated. An Advance Directive will allow you to make or appoint a loved one to make important medical decisions for you when you are not able, rather than a hospital, or worse, a court. These documents can be quickly and efficiently prepared when the need arises.
In the event your loved one is unable to make decisions for themselves and a Power of Attorney or Living Will were not prepared in advance, Attorney Peles can represent you in Guardianship proceedings.
As a staff attorney for the New Jersey Ombudsman for the Institutionalized Aged, he has gained valuable experience in dealing with nursing and boarding homes.
